Drowning in Society (Shape poem)

in a sea of regret

forgetting to come up for air.

It’s overwhelming when you can’t breath

the oxygen escaping your blood, just to surface.

You’d give your life for one more gasp. you already are.

Your life doesn’t flash before your eyes – you just panic and drown.

You aren’t ready to die or give up, but humanity has lost all hope in survival.

We drown ourselves in money and possessions, forever gasping for that last scrap of air.
